The dog and the little were not in comas but they were there as that's what the hosts were dreaming about. The man was dreaming about his dog. The woman was dreaming about her children. Even towards the end when Amy fell asleep, she was dreaming about the Doctor hence why he appeared. And the sonic screwdriver in 2 mins isn't really important to the plot. It was done quickly and efficiently. I thought that Steven Moffat is abolsutely fantastic introducing a new Doctor and a new companion all in one episode! Plot isn't really that important as it was the introduction of the characters which came first. I think you're looking too deeply into minor things and missing the basic point of the episode :)

I'm not doing any impressions of anyone - that's me! People say I do look/act like David Tennant and the people who know me think we're similar. So it's difficult when people say "put more of yourself into the role" when we're similar!
