RedD Monkey is an alt-punk cello trio based out of Toronto, Ontario. It's said that they sound like a mix of a dozen cats mid-butchery and Rasputina, but by nobody reputable; they've also been likened to Apocalyptica, only made up of scruffy weirdos ("Apunkalyptica"), by some metalhead. In fact, most reputable sources have refused to give any opinion whatsoever about this group of rogues, except to issue several angry letters asking for them to "stop mail-bombing our offices with semi-nude photographs of yourselves frolicking in the forest" (Editor of the New York Times, September 17th 2009*).

RedD Monkey was formed in Kelowna in 2009, after abandoning their original drummer on a ski hill in the summer. Idiot-savant brothers Steve and Pete Mozarowski formed a cello/guitar punk posse, with Kevin Overton on drums. Once that drummer realized his dreams of becoming a solo teen dance sensation*, Joe Bumbacco was called in from the peanut gallery to double-kick like a madman.

This raucous band of ear-abusing miscreants has played successful shows from Halifax to Vancouver, and in a million* hick towns in between. They have killed very few people (except in particularly battle-heavy D&D matches), and have never even been to prison*. They've been featured musically, and in botched, awkward interviews on such online talk shows as Liquid Lunch. Some metalhead once wrote "... I still say that they shouldn't start and end their sets with cello rap songs...".
