RedCliff Ascent is a therapeutic wilderness program for adolescents ages 13 to 18. Located in the high desert plateau of Southern Utah, RedCliff has helped thousands of students and their families.

RedCliff was founded in 1992 and is recognized as an industry leader in safety, therapeutic excellence, and value.

RedCliff specializes in treating students who are on a Developmental Vacation ™, our term for a disrupted or incomplete pattern of development. They lack the coping mechanisms, competencies and discipline necessary to manage their lives at an age appropriate level.

In other arenas, these students may only be labeled by their diagnoses, which may include ADHD, ODD, bipolar mood disorder, etc. The RedCliff treatment protocol recognizes the child and the illness are two distinctly separate components. Each is specifically addressed in the therapeutic process.

We help the student and family understand how a specific cluster of symptoms associated with their diagnosis has impacted the student's developmental progression. RedCliff's therapeutic model disrupts the Developmental Vacation ™ and reintegrates the student into the appropriate developmental progression.

Our treatment model evolved under the direction of Clinical Psychologist Dr. Dan Sanderson. With 20 years of field therapy and clinical leadership, "Doc Dan" is considered the one of the premier wilderness therapists in the United States.
