I enjoy taking songs that have an important social significance to me, or highlight a cause or political position and matching it with images that further illustrate what the lyrics are about. Mainly, these videos are about social justice, the need to overthrow capitalism, anti racism/fascism, etc. In much of my videos, I've used folk music, sometimes quite archaic folk music. This is mainly due to the fact that folk music has been used in the fight for social justice and by groups such as the IWW from the very beginning. It is music of and by the people and represents the very heart and soul of the movement. Some of my videos may seem only to be focused on history. Yet it is my believe that we must arm ourselves with the knowledge of the past in order to understand the present. Slavery and Jim Crow may be things of the past for example, but their legacy lives on, and to understand this dark past, better helps us understand concerns in today's world. Arm yourself with knowledge comrades, smash capitalism and raise the red flag high!
