DE:HR For those just beginning their playthrough, I can recommend that the jumping and lifting heavy objects should be among the first augmentations you get - you will find they make so many of the early quests a lot easier, especially because you can often get around the need to hack something when your hack aug is still low.

Re: your latest bulletin - glad to see it. I like your approach to the game. Another LPer whose name I will not mention, but his initials are FF(!) is far ahead of you but over 100 videos in and only about 2/3 thru the game! I love his LP's a lot but anyone who follows him knows he plays verrrry slowly and thoroughly, which can be annoying to some, but it's all good!

One more comment regarding hacking in DE HR: At the point where you are now, level 2 would be my recommended hack level, and should be good at least until the next mission, which does not begin until after you analyze the hub on your home computer. AFTER that mission, I suggest hacking 3, and that should suffice until end of game. Hope this is helpful.

I am not sure how accurate the following statement is, found it in a wikicheats forum: "If you have the Capture 2 software, you can hack into Penn's computer to gather additional info pertaining to Megan's case. If you don't, it's not required to complete the mission. " It is possible that just entering Penn's office is enough to complete the quest, but I have not tried to do that.

In the first game, lockpicking and hacking were separate skills, but in this one they are both dependent on your hacking ability, and certain parts are a LOT easier to complete with those skills at a decent level.

Deus Ex HR for anyone considering this game, I have one suggestion which will save you a lot of hassle. Yes, things in the game that you MUST get into will either have a code available or be level 1 security, but in general hacking is so critical to full enjoyment of everything the game has to offer that I recommend your first 3 or so praxis points go into hacking level. If you can hack AT LEAST level 3 devices by the time you complete the police station mission, you will likely be ok, but you do NOT want to get to later parts of the game with low level hacking skill for maximum pleasure.

You CAN complete the quest without opening the safe, but there are a couple of things inside that you will definitely want to get, so it is worth it.
