About this user

As a self taught artist I began working with clay and beads. I started painting 13 years ago and it has become my medium of choice. I live and grew up on the west coast of British Columbia and have always been inspirited by the surrounding old growth cedar and pine, as well as the sky they lay upon.

My love affaire with paint started with my first portrait. Capturing emotions on canvas is challenging but when achieved it is timeless, evoking and can take your breath away. I find the same with painting trees, looming, strong, each one telling a different story, rooted in our memories.

When I Paint it is like waking up from a dream. I crave any bit of it's memory, just a flash, a glimpse, a taste of that lucid time. In this space I am no longer aware, my brush goes, mind blank, it is truly a luscious moment.
