About this user

Rezgeraco was born in Manila, Philippines but soon moved to Canada at a young age. Music has been well known throughout his life, but out of all the genres he was exposed to, this young man soon gravitated towards Hip Hop. The first time he would hear H.E.R. (Hip Hop personified in the song "I Used to Love H.E.R." by Common) was at the tender age of 7, when his father played a cassette tape in the car with a compilation of different Hip Hop acts such as Rakim, Run DMC and Salt-N-Pepa. He would also have a deep inclination with poetry, thanks to his mother. Rez at 12, decided to start going steady with Hip Hop, writing rhymes on a daily basis, reading the dictionary and devouring knowledge from books.

During his formative years, his passions were fostered in art and English class with artistic and lyrical inclinations. His writing also grew up with him, scribing his lifes experiences and the skills he gained, on the pad. Living in a working-class immigrant household, Rez became aware to the issues facing minorities, working class families and the Filipino community. Hard work, dedication and perseverance were daily lessons he had to learn.

Tenacious at heart, Rezgeraco is slowly building up his repertoire with the many shows, open mics and talent showcases under his belt. Taking in lifes experiences, a strong socio/political background intertwined with vicious lyricism and wordplay, and Hip Hop in his hearts core, Rez continues to blaze mics and ears in the Toronto local music scene. With an upcoming demo/EP, he'll be taking Toronto one ear at a time.
