About Rare Metabolic Disorder Awareness Life w/ A Rare Disease
RMDA wants to spread the awareness of all inborn errors of metabolism and the importance of Newborn Screening.
Our son Dustyn was diagnosed with a life threatening disease called Glutaric Aciduria Type 1. We found out through NBS. Dustyn has a chance at life with constant attention to him, his levels and developments. Unfortunatly not all children have the same chance as Dustyn. Due to the inborn errors being silent most children find out they are positive in result of a metabolic stroke or a sibling.
What is tested on the NBS is different in all states and countries. We are hear to let you be aware of this. We also want to let you know that the world is becoming aware of NBS but still a slow process.We want to share with you how it is effecting and changing the world as the awareness grows.
