Veriax, you are MORE likely to get hurt with a ranged weapon in this game. Enemies hitting you in melee get +10 attack, your ranged weapons do a fraction of the damage your lightsaber does, and the lightsaber reflects blaster fire anyway so you take less damage from ranged attackers.
