Curious as to where the text for the song title was taken from. Did the original actually have it spelled "bon ton roula" ?!? The actual French for "Let The Good Times Roll" - is "Laissez les Bon Temps Roulent" . . .

I love this guy - when I first hit the Country scene in The Lower Mainland - along with Elmer Tippe and Dave Paul and Ray McAuley, Dick was one of the folks who made me feel welcomed. About as UNswell-headed and down-to-earth as you could get. A great heart, great writer - and great fun !!!

Actually - Jamie Horton (aka Gayla Peevey) was the first person to record Robot Man - I believe she co-wrote it. Connie Francis "covered" it, later.

The instruments are a 12-string guitar (Neil) - bazouki (Peter Childs) - guitarron (Bruce Langhorn) - bass (Felix Papplardi) - drums (???).

I was introduced to his music by a guy named Michael Dorsey - another singer-songwriter - with an uncanny resemblance both vocally and physically to Fred Neil.
