My dad and I are railfans. I've loved trains since I was a little kid. I grew up with Norfolk Southern but have learned to appeciate all the railroads before that that have shaped railroading today. I'm a big PRR fan as well.

Interests

Freight trains, passenger trains, tourist trains, Maintenance of way, and light moves. I love everything to do with trains. Even models (mostly HO scale). I love to learn their history as well. Richmond, Indiana: As far east as you can go in Central Indiana (right on the Ohio border). It's not the best place for railfanning nowadays but back in the day, the Pennsylvania Railroad was bustling in this small city. They had two lines going through Richmond plus one that ended here. The Pittsburg to St. Louis line was one of them. One line was sold to Norfolk & Western and is the only one majorly active today as currently owned by Norfolk Southern. There used to be a moderate sized yard owned by PRR. Also, the Chesapeake & Ohio played a large role in the history of our city. C&O's line ran from Cincinnati, OH to Chicago but the portion from Richmond to the northwest is gone. This C&O line is now leased by CSX to the Indiana Eastern Railway and has no interchange connection to the NS line. Two electric interurban railways met here. one was the Dayton & Western Traction and the other was the Terre Haute, Indianapolis & Eastern Traction.
