Yes, Drifter is go on this track in Community. Silent Running, on the other hand, is pretty much worthless because of how often you have to throw up shields. Use Bribe instead imho.

@chubbz5150ify Community has few (if any) nitros, so typical drifting lines don't apply. And your faith in the CCX is misplaced -- put that up against Kiloton's Viper in hardcore and you'll lose every time.

I think the powerup placement on the first row really did it... the natural motion of the turn sends people into powerups 3 and 4 (usually smashing into the wall right after), and most were simply getting carried into the shock at #3. During a team race with me as the rabbit (FR/SE/ECM), my buddy racked up 29 hits on a single person on this track using a combination of Mastermine and Decoy Drop. Absolutely brutal track to fall behind on, and it can all hinge on who comes out of the switchback first.

On a dare last week, I took the Golf W12 through this using Drifter, and won despite a squirrely majestic clusterfuck of madness. However, since then I've really dug into the lines on here and discovered how drift-friendly it really is for a CCW track. To my knowledge, nobody else on PS3 is doing...

@MacKazzy Well the FR-100 is nice if you can handle sliding out without ever touching the handbrake... which is crap indeed. But humor me. Switch on Drifter and try every track at least once with the CCX.

Played this at PAX Prime where the devs were chillin' with us 1 on 1, they're super stoked for this, and it played and felt promising as hell for an ex-SSX Tricky loyalist like myself. Can't wait!

I know of only one person on PS3 who uses silent running proficiently, and none who can do so concurrently with drifter lines. I suppose with enough time using it you'd eventually get used to triangulating your vehicle's position by the position of the taillights, but that's an awful lot of work ...

I gotta say, airbrake rift abusers rank slightly behind decoy droppers and scramblers as the most annoying people in the game... mainly because it's so rare that it actually does anything to help you win. It's a rage tactic... like ramming.
