i think bigotry on every level sucks. i don't care if you are black, white. yellow, red, green. if you segregate simply based on color, religion, ethnicity, stereotype, scapegoat, size;; whatever, you are ignorant.

an example of this was when i got into an argument with a black girl, and asked her why black people could use the word "nigga" but white boys couldn't. she explained to me that it was because they were turning a negative label and trying to personalize it into a positive thing for blacks. sounds great. but since the white folks coined the term, it was offensive for whites to use it. i explained to her that is perpetuating segregation and racism: by simply disallowing a group of people to participate in it was racist on the grounds of exclusion based on race. it may not be MALICIOUS racism but it is segregation none the less. if we are truly going to coexist together we need to accept certain things into our culture that may not be comfortable. of course outright ignorance and inconsideration for others cultures is unacceptable, but we need to realize that everyone's culture and mentality is different. but that doesn't prevent us from sharing he culture. if you don't like a particular culture, don't associate with them but seriously consider why you do not like that culture.
