Rush are playing amazingly, but FFS, they deserve a better sound mix than this. I can see there is a crowd there, but I don't need the crowd noise drowning out the guitar parts. The rest of the mix is awash in reverb. Music this good deserves much better treatment.

Does anyone know the date of this clip (not of the overall doco, but of the specific Breau/Farlow clip). I'm trying to figure out roughly when that guitar was made.

I don't dislike the film as such. If I'd seen it as a youtube clip along with things like Charlie the Unicorn or Badger Badger Badger I'd have no problem.

An update - according to Wikipedia these instruments have been in common usage for nearly a century, reaching their peak of popularity in the 1920's. Deering still manufacture them.

Of course many others have ripped off Numan as well. At least decent artists like Trent Reznor give Numan the respect he deserves.
