I don't see anything wrong with that statement. St. Augustine, who coined the phrase, has an excellent explanation that, to me, makes more sense.

@DameonLaeheartxx I think a more likely explaination is that as elites, these people may not even know, or simply dont care, about the food situation outside of Pyongyang, where food is guaranteed.

The statement is that Catholic Church developed scientific method. Seeing that the church is the only way of getting educated, I dont see how that statement is false.
