The Beatles aren't the world's biggest evil -- not even in the world of music. There are many mansions in the house of Euterpe.

RE: UFO Over New York City: Richard Feynman Comments
See you at Feynman Days
I can think of a couple of reasons no astronomer told Patrick Moore that he'd had a UFO sighting. However, according to a survey of members of the American Astronomical Society, several have. Google Jnl. of Scientific Exploration, 8, 2, for results.

See you at Feynman Days
@Kokainuser: By that logic I am immortal because I believe I will never die and I am 100% right, unless I die. Yes, I am comparing UFOs today with meteorites in 1840. Besides, a lot of credible people have reported UFO sightings, including about 5% of the members of the American Astronomical S...

RE: UFO Over New York City: Richard Feynman Comments
See you at Feynman Days
I don't want to argue. He was a brilliant guy but a bit too sure of himself. In the case of UFOs, he uses a logic gotten from David Hume. If something can be explained by two miracles, he'll choose the simpler of the two miracles. For Feynman, it leads to a qualified belief that sightings are...

See you at Feynman Days
He's mostly right. It's a matter of probabilities. But crazies and hoaxes aside, he doesn't seem to realize that it only takes ONE real event to turn the probabilities upside down. And he's never been a witness to such an event although thousands of others have. He's too sure of himself. Som...

Feynman Chaser - The Likelihood of Flying Saucers
Richard Feynman gives his preferred explanation of reports of flying saucers.
I have to add, it's also arrogant of us to figure out why "they" would visit us, when the question is still "what are UFOs?" Their existence is beyond dispute but there may be no aliens involved. They might be thoughts in the mind of God for all we know about them.

Mr. Supify, here's the key phrase in your comment. "+ from what we understand its impossible to travel at the speed of light or nearly as fast." It's accurate. "From what we understand . . . ."
But it's theory dependent too. From what we understand it's impossible to travel at or near the ...

The amygdala might be called "the memory center" if the findings were reversed, but that wouldn't change the fact that the amygdala has nothing much to do with memory (that's the hippocampus) but has everything to do with the fight or flight response -- fear and rage. Likewise, the anterior cing...
