Amiri Baraka Play

Amiri Baraka, the noted poet, playwright and co-founder of the Black Arts Movement of the 1960's, will headline two special events on RIT's campus. At 4 p.m., the widely published author plans to present present a Master Class for RIT students and others interested in writing poetry, fiction or creative nonfiction at 4 p.m., in the 1510 Lab Theater at RIT's National Technical Institute for the Deaf. Following, at 7:30 p.m., in the same space, his award -winning play, Dutchman, will be performed by the theater troupe Many Voices, co-produced with Maplewood Performing Arts Center.Both events are free and open to the public.

Poet Lyn Lifshin shares some of her work with and answers questions from students at Rochester Institute of Technology.
