sup man, I say get a Finnish Mosin Nagant.... They are rare and expensive, but prone to be way more accurate and smoother than say, 91/30. Soviet wartime Mosin-Nagants can have bores from .311 to .314 or wider. Finns range from .308 (the model 28-30 which I have btw) to a standard of about .310 for most M-39's. If you reload your ammo, you can get some really fantastic results with modern .308 cal hunting bullets. I dont even know if they make any factory load deer hunting ammunition for .311. But If you wanna go for the 91/30, the most important thing is to find yourself one with a good looking bore, especially keep eye on bore near the muzzle end. The barrel there can be pretty much fuck´d up with cleaning attempts by crooked cleaning rods. You aint hitting an deer with that kind of rifle. I´ve heard some good things about those Post-WWII m44 carbine´s, but then again you´ll be dealing with the .311 bore if you ever wanna try premium .308 bullets.
