I installed the insinkerator 777ss 1 HP a few years back and its unstoppable! Chicken and rib bones even, NO PROBLEM.. I remember those!..There were a few buildings in the city I live in that had those style buttons, mind you this was going back to the late 70's and early 80's... Not sure if they are still around in those buildings or if they have been replaced.

Gotta love the older machines of the 50's and 60's.. They not only are built to last, they sound like they are a serious piece of machinery when they start up and run.. Gotta love being able to hear the elevator bell when the car has arrived and the machinery has just stopped... Classic!

We still have those shitty stamped steel double duplex covers up here in canada. I would always drill and add the extra 4 screws, but even so the way they are constructed they tend to twist when installed to the box.. Nothing beats those covers like what you show, and I am able to find them ...

@frumlady YEP I remember that old place, and i remember those old evevators too!.. They used to leave your gut at whatever floor you got ON at.
