I THINK PEOPLE BECOME ACTORS...because one life, isn't enough for them in one lifetime. WRITERS...need to live all of them.
*wish* - to work however small, on something with Stephen Speilberg... I've heard him talk about that film means to him, why he does it. He takes us down paths we've seached for in your dreams, that leads us to the home we dream of reaching.
Like everyone here I have favorite TV shows, movies, stories and stars that I have grown up with or just newly discovered but love all the same. Like you, my desire is to somehow be a part of them, as they are of me, by sending inspired ideas, images, and expressions of that love out into the void...which is now somewhat less empty since the creation of such internet arenas...and hoping for an answer back.
Like most of you I have been inspired to creat, dance, sing you name it, since I was a small child, way before the miracle of the internet when only our close family and friends could witness the genius of our insanity, to their dismay we can now share it with the world ;). Now that today's technology can make our daydreams tangilbe I feel both an old timer and new comer at once...my journey begun and almost abandoned decades ago starts again here.
I made my stage debut at 6, announcing our first grade play before all my enemies, to the surprise of my few friends. 'CHRONIC DAYDREAMER' was marked on my report cards right next to the straight A's. I worked as a waitress through college graduating with honors in Political Science, the major of most actors, then quickly resumed my career waiting tables. I now work in and archiving of sorts you would recognize it from the ending shot in Raiders of the Lost Ark. But see myself someday ending up in law or politics where truth and integrity reign...on the Daily Show.
You're always told that 'Show Business' is s cold and cut throat business, where people are never what they seem to be, and I know, as in all things it is true in places, but in my traverses so far I find the opposite to be true, well, at least among the actors, and writers, and artists, and some agents. Oh they are a handfull, go to any acting class or forum, each and everyone there is an arrogant, insecure, crazy, hopeful center of the universe...but unlike in the corporate world they don't try to hide it, they express it boldly, fearfully, proudly. And the energy in the room is astounding because we're all happy to be there, there is no other place we belong to or long for...well except on the academy award stage...just kidding. In that emotion, all our humility and the vanity it takes to expose it, each of these people out for themselves are more one in spirit than most another group of people in the world. There are no office politics, good or bad, we know where each other's hearts are, because they wear them on their sleeves.
Whether you enjoy my creations...or not, I'm still grateful for this opportunity to show them off as my generation only dreamed of. We all have one thing in common, we once all imagined ourselves as lone bright stars, upon entering this world arena we are humbled and dimmed almost to the point of out...until we realize we are not loosing our brightness, we are joining it to form galaxies.
Enough phiosophy...have some laughs.
