The Residents Action Movement (or RAM) is a political party in New Zealand. RAM is a broad left-wing coalition of community activists who are uniting from around New Zealand to challenge the mediocrity of two-party politics in New Zealand.

We promote a positive vision of a multi-cultural inclusive society where economics work for people, where environmentalism isn't just talk and where progress isn't measured by numbers and statistics but by people in jobs, by safe communities and by children growing up out of poverty.

This year, RAM has gone from being a Greater Auckland broad left coalition (winning 100,000 votes in the 2007 council elections) to becoming a countrywide people's movement contesting the 2008 parliamentary election. Between March and July 2008, 3,000 people joined RAM, making us the fastest growing political movement in the land. We have been recognised by the Electoral Commission as a nationwide party.

Over recent months, 25,000 people have signed our wildly popular GST-off-food petition, which has attracted nationwide media attention.
