Uploaded again, after messing up the first time...
This is a strange cartoon. I've been able to tidy it up quite a lot, because most of the problem is just random noise and so is easily fixed by the wonders of the temporal smooth. Other than that staple of restoration, I've dejittered much of the video, despeckled a little (Not much, as my despeckler doesn't handle this animation at all), averaged the ending credits and opening, and used the averager with sigma preservation on the opening

Gertie the Dinosaur! Not actually the first cartoon... but probably somewhere around the third or fourth, counting only those released to the cinema. The earlier cartoons, to my knowledge, do not survive.
One good thing about this: It's copyright expired in 2004. Go on and show it around all you want. Not that copyright would or should stop anyone, even if it were still valid.
This restoration isn't really done - I got this far before getting bored. You can tell which parts I've finished, they have less noise.
The first and last scenes have just a temporal smooth, as my more advanced techniques arn't suited for those. The rest... I've used my own dejitter filter, deflicker filter, and averager. Frame rate converted back to the origional too, or as close as I can work out.
The animator really loves cycling - I've found some frames in that video appearing seventy or more times. The slow part I got bored on is figuring out which frames go where. The channel logo in the corner has been waiting until after I do that, just because it's a lot easier to delogo perfectly one copy of a frame than seventy not-quite-identical frames.
If, for some reason, you want to see the restoration completed... pay up, because I'm not giving up precious lazying-around-the-house time for free.

A restored version of the One Room House scene. Unfortunatly the source material I have is irreperably damaged by a poorly performed telecine. Because of this, there is no way to recover the progressive source - this video is of poor quality, and noone can fix this without rescanning the origional film stock itsself, which I assume resides somewhere in a studio vault.
I have still managed to produce a significent improvement. My new dejitter program has not only restored the title cards to perfection, but done a good job of steadying the rest of the video too - and in doing so, allowed me to apply a mild temporal smooth.
