I plotted down my thoughts to the current health care situation in America
Quality of American Health Care is very good, however accessibility is abysmal, causing an estimated 40.000 dead Americans EACH YEAR.
-exploding premiums (in 2020 they will have quadrupled compared to 10 years ago)
-many people are uninsured, posing a risk for them
-insurances will only insure healthy people
-insurance companies simply deny their customers coverage if they deem it unprofitable and literaly let them DIE
-50% of all bankruptcies are related to Health Care
-the American middle class is doing worse worse and worse, and the distribution of wealth between poor
-still, insurance companies have absurdly high record profits of ALL TIME
Proposal by Democrats:
-create a non-profit insurance OPTION (as opposed to Single Payer system - only that would be called government-run
healthcare)
-even though it will cover everybody that chooses to, and it will not deny sick people coverage if they need it, it
will still be 10%-20% cheaper on premiums than current private options
-this system has been proven to work well in other western countries for decades
-if you dislike the public option, you can always switch to a private option, or stay there in the first place
-it is an American
insurance companies are highly concerned that the public options will work, which will then make it very hard to
take it away (in the same way it happened with Medicaid, unlikely the American people would vote to get rid of it
entirely)
-they will NOT run out of business (that is extreme speculation and fear mongering)
-it may be true that one third of all Americans will choose the public option as it offers better coverage for less
money
-yes, they will have less profits because they will actually have to compete
Politics:
Republicans as well as some Democrats:
-are payed (lobbied/bribed) by insurance companies - this year alone insurance companies have spend $300.000.000 on lobbying politicians
-they oppose any sort of change that would risk insurance profits(!)
-abuse natural stupidity, naivety and ignorance of people
-one despicable tactic to do so is ruthless fear-mongering if it fits their interests
-even though they claim to be the party of morals and family values, they have proven and strongly continue to prove their crass hypocrisy concerning any values and ideology
-FEAR FEAR FEAR (terrorism, government, everything)
-if they could they would like no reform at all as companies love the current situation
-they have come up with some fake-proposals that in some cases would even favor the industry more than now (they know it is not serious, but that way they can claim 'we have tried to reform')
-they claim that Democrats are not trying to be bipartisan (that could be called an ironic huge joke/lie)
-yet themselves they bockbuster anything Democrats want to pass
-on a side note: %70 of Americans favor a public option
-Fox News poll says something else, however if examined showes EXTREME bias in way questions are asked
-insurance companies have sponsored many new polls, dictating what results they want to see (no exaggeration)
Solution to everything:
-the American people must start thinking for themselves, each individually
-the American people must stop believing hypocritical politicians and start also questioning their motivations
-unfortunately I see this unlikely to happen, as there is a great lack of even basic education in the general population
-if Republicans continue to successfully undermine education (education for everyone, not only the rich), the current political system has very good chances to remain in control for many generations to come
