On February 28th, 2008, I will have the lap band procedure, or laparoscopic gastric banding. This bariatric surgery is designed to restrict the amount of food necessary to make a person feel full after eating, therefore is a tool for weight loss. The amount of information available to people on the lap-band is limited and hard to find, so my goal is to post my video blog's about my surgical and life experiences with the lap-band so that others can better decide if this tool is right for them.I am a registered nurse, newly engaged and planning a huge move across the country in July '08; my life is taking off. No longer can I "wait to start over again on Monday", the time is now. I hope that you will find my blog's helpful and interesting, and I hope to have your support in my journey.
I have a couple promises that I intend to keep to you:
1 - I promise to post the amount of time since surgery, and the amount of total weight loss at the beginning of each of my blog's.
2 - I promise to talk about food and eating patterns and share what works and what doesn't work for you in each of my blog's.
3 - I promise to update each month.
4 - And lastly - I will TRY not to vent to the YouTube community about my personal matters that don't directly relate to my weight loss journey.
I feel like my bubbly, over the top, goofy personality has been trapped in someone else's body for so many years, and I am so excited to be free of this prison...to be the Queen of starting over!
