A Seattle native fluent in Spanish, Tyler Swanger graduated with a BS in biochemistry at the University of Washington where he was named a Mary Gates Scholar for his research in biomaterials. In 2007, he spent five months in Cienfuegos, Cuba through an academic license held by the UW. While in Cuba he filmed ¿Qué Bolá?. Tyler hopes to generate interest in the Cuban model of healthcare.
