About this user
Qantm was founded in 1996 in Australia, backed by several key universities, government departments and arts bodies. It quickly became the country's leading new media college with the main campus in Brisbane, and now has colleges in Melbourne and Sydney. By carefully crafting important links with key companies, Qantm Australia set a benchmark in the ability to design its courses to meet the needs of the relevant industries and it now runs specific Certificate, Diploma and Batchelor qualifications in Animation, Digital Video, Games Programming, Graphic Design and Multimedia.
Qantm courses always include plenty of hands-on training by experienced professionals using state of the art equipment and industry-standard practices. Importantly, students have the opportunity to complete real world projects during their training, with many students gaining plenty of industry experience before they graduate. On top of the regular lectures, students are also supplied with unique insights into the industry with regular 'lunchbox lectures' where key members of the games, animation and multimedia industries present lectures designed to keep students in touch with current industry developments.
Students on the Australian courses can get involved with several high profile industry associations such as the Games Development Association Australia (GDAA), the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) and the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA).
Because the courses are developed around industrial trends, those students who complete a Qantm course become very competitive in both the local and international design, business and technology environments. In short, Qantm makes sure it knows what the new media industry requires and furnishes its students with that knowledge and expertise, putting them at a huge advantage in what can be a very competitive job market. Qantm colleges have won several national and international education awards and their graduates are highly sought after by the digital media industries both in Australia and overseas.
In November 2004 the SAE group became Qantm's new backer, bringing with it an unrivalled excellence in the field of technology education. With more than 50 colleges around the globe SAE has become a dominant force in the fields of audio production and multimedia education. The combined expertise of SAE and Qantm looks set to revolutionise the teaching of game programming, web design and 3D animation around the globe. Soon students the world over will be able to embrace the Qantm ethos and take advantage of some of the most ground-breaking courses, which can only give them an advantage when applying to work for the most ground-breaking companies.
