About All things Aquaria - Saratoga
The videos are of my Saratoga Jardini aka. Pearl Arowana. Natural habitat is the Northern Territory of Australia.
I bought it around September 2007.
The fish is fed Hikari pellets mixed with Spirulina in the morning. Then beefheart, fish fillet, crickets, earthworms, superworms, yabbies or community frozen food in the afternoon. No feeder fish is fed.
Current tank is a 5foot x 2foot x 2foot with blue background. About 150 US gallons. Limited decorations with some gravel at the bottom.
My Jardini did not accept pellets at first. But I put some silver dollars (Metynnis argenteus) in the tank so it could learn from them.
Due to the sustained drought, all my water changes are done with rainwater. Water is buffered with crushed coral and heated to 27 degrees, sometimes blackwater and essential elements are added.
