I've gotta tell you, I have one of the best jobs in the government-- I get to work on the TV public service ads for a federal agency called the General Services Administration.
Beginning in the early 70s and until a few years ago, the PSAs were about consumer information booklets from Pueblo, Colorado. I grew up with these PSAs and even sang along with them when my bosses showed them to me during my job interview! (Happily, they hired me anyway. LOL)
Although you can still get booklets from Pueblo, these days, our PSAs feature USA.gov (formerly known as FirstGov.gov) and 1 (800) FED-INFO--the government's official web portal and phone number that you can use to get answers to your questions about federal, state and local government services and benefits.
I'm going to share these newer PSAs with you first. And as soon as we get them digitized, I'll post the old, classic commercials that you or your parents might remember from "the folks in Pueblo, Colorado."
