Most manufacturer's do this same recommendation with all tires, meaning if you do put new ones on, install them on the rear. This is counter intuitive, but they are just covering their asses basically stating they'd rather have understeer rather than oversteer as its easier to regain...

Its useful with hondas as some use a captured rotor (wheel bearing has to be removed to remove the brake rotor). These do have thier benefits if you can use them enough.

Moisture and common water spray yes, but not being submerged underwater (pressure). And depending on how long it stays underwater plays a big role too. Every worked on a floodwater car? I have, can be a total electrical nightmare.

Nope, forks have travel its the throttle blipping thats upsetting the chassis. Probably on and off the brakes at the same time as well trying to blip it.

Thats great for a racecar but probably wouldnt even be able to turn the oil pump on that beast.

Actually doubt those BFG's are any better in the snow than a normal all season tire, mine suck in the snow i know that for sure.

This actually works pretty well with minimal damage to the tire, chunking doesnt really occur and it gives a noticeable gain in winter and wet weather driving.

There is another video on youtube where it shows the crash from a distance. From what you can make out it just looks like he started tumbling a little after he hit the curbing and continued into the gravel, the bike does not look like its anywhere near him .

You can see the lip he goes over at 1:03. There is an "edge" there. You can clearly see the front susepension drop and then the rear and he lost it after..

@RHMproduction Skid steers just generally suck in snow unless you can get down to pavement. We pull stuck ones out every year from people thinking they are as good in snow as dirt.

Has nothing to do with the clutch, there is some oil drag in the transmission though and will cause the ouput shaft to turn even when not in gear. Not a big deal.

I agree with these guys, riding position and such is all relative in the big picture, which is in the lap times. Problem is your dragging hard parts of the bike and your boots but your probably 20-30 seconds a lap off any kind of racing level. How do you plan on going any faster? ...

@korefighter Sure its a basic skill called trail braking. Obviously its a learn basic skill that needs to be used wisely though.

Doesnt sound like camera guy is really up in the rpms on that last corner, really lugging the engine, but next gear down is probably first which would be kinda sketchy. May need to change gearing a bit to help out?

Just some viscous drag in the driveline, even though its disengaged the oil can cause enough drag to spin the tire a bit.

Keep the rpms up! You'll gain a lot of time just doing that, your losing a lot out of each corner.

@cedneko You really think so? Run the numbers on a 80,000lb truck going 65-75mph and see what kind of forces you can come up with, add a few trucks and it can turn ugly really quick.

Maybe there was a hidden obstruction near that tree? Stump maybe?
