The whistle he uses to get the highest pitch notes is via bottom lip to front teeth. It requires a special shape to your front teeth though. I used to have a hard time figuring this one out, but I'm the best at it now. I make the loudest, lowest pitch, cleanest whistle of all my friends. I can even do like a really high tone, almost like the whistle your gym teacher uses only just a tad lower.
