Promundo is a Brazilian based NGO founded in 1997 devoted to promoting social development through the questioning of traditional, no-equitable gender norms. Our projects have an international reach and contribute to improve the lives of children, youth and their families. Our activities include carrying out research, implementing social interventions and engaging in advocacy and dissemination efforts to raise consciousness and influence public policies.
As part of our social interventions, Promundo develops materials that include cartoons and films that can be used by educators and social workers seeking to promote discussions on issues ranging from gender equity (questioning of rigid standards of masculinity) and women's autonomy, to the prevention of violence against women and children. At our Youtube channel you can take a look at some of these audiovisuals. We invite you to visit our website for more information.
