ABOUT PROJECT ABILITY FILMS
Project Ability is a visual arts charity running art and film workshops for young people and adults with disabilities and mental health issues. Talented film makers are producing buckets full of inspiring and ambitious films which can be seen at our film showcase 'Young Talent on the Big Screen' and at 'Co-operative Young Film Makers' screenings, both held at the GFT. Films are also submitted to festivals like 'International Kids for Kids' and 'Oska Bright', with many notable triumphs!

We entered Harris's film in the Kids for Kids Film Festival in Durham, and the Youth Jury selected it as Best 1 Minute film.
We are all very proud of Harris, and are looking forward to delivering him his well-deserved award!
Cameron Black won an Xbox 360 as joint winner of Best Individual entry with Wizzy and friends on the subway and Drew Daly was runner up withNCRPF, and won £50 worth of Fopp Vouchers. Big ups to you both!

Free taster film workshops - for young people aged 8-25 years - are on offer to groups and individuals who attend the Co-operative Young Film Makers Screening on the 8th or 13th of February 2010.
The workshops will take place at Project Ability at the following times:
Mon 8 Feb 2010, 1 - 2pm & 2.15 - 3.15pm
Sat 13 Feb 2010, 1.30 - 2.30pm & 2.45 - 3.45pm

Project Ability artists sweep up at the Oska Bright International Short Film Festival.
Doreen Kaye with Young At Heart won Best Overall Film and Hughie McIntyre won
Best Animation with The Story of The Beatles. These films will now go on to tour disability film festivals in Europe and North America. Doreen travelled to Brighton to accept the awards and here is what the judges said:
Young at Heart : The music is great..I wanted to dance.. The animation explained the song words well.. the drawings were good..It was very charming..We just loved it.. the mouth moving is great..... This film makes us feel great and happy..... The animation is very strong
The Story of The Beatles: We enjoyed the music Seeing the characters mouths moving..was fantastic, it made us laughThe voices were done well and were very good
