Today we are pleased to talk about one of the most unique LP collections we have had in years. It comes from a professor of music who is down-sizing. For several decades he collected some of the most unusual, cutting edge records made. From the early 60's on, there are fine examples of all sorts of electronic/ avant-garde: microtonal, fluxus-related, 20th century classical, experimental, drone, noise, minimal synth, gallery editions, and more.
This collection has many imports, primarily German and U.K., and quite a few private editions featuring many of the most sought-after artists in these genres. There is more Stockhausen then we've ever had at one time, and recordings by pioneering musicians like Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, John Cage, Glenn Branca, John Zorn, Alvin Lucier, Globe Unity, and many others.
We know this music isn't for everybody, but for those of you out there looking for such things, this is a real treasure trove. As an example, one of the many highlights is "Cybernetic Serendipity Music" with works in progress by Xenakis, Cage and others. This souvenir was sold at the 1968 Cybernetic Serendipity exhibition put on by the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London which was one of the first to showcase robots, computers and their potential impact on our lives. There can't have been more than a couple hundred of these LPs made, and this collection has not one, but two copies!
These records are, with just a couple of exceptions in amazingly good shape. The prices range quite a bit due to the scarce nature of some the titles. The bulk are in the $2.99-$9.99 range, but some of the private editions and very rare pieces go up to $100 or so (still way below auction prices).
Please note if you are not familiar with our store...we are a bricks-and-mortar walk-in store only. We do not ship.
Hope to see you soon.

We have just put out a super-clean collection of around 2,000 mostly rock LPs.
This collector bought a good representation of popular music from the late 70's to the mid 80's. Nothing rare here, but it includes a great assortment of major artists and titles from that time period. The records are almost all near-mint with many still in their original shrink wrap. They are mostly mainstream rock, but there are also a fair amount of blues, soul, reggae and more.
If you're looking to fill holes in your standard rock library, this is a great collection for you. We've priced them pretty cheap, because we badly need room for more. They are selling briskly now (a hundred or so sold as I am writing this), so please don't delay.
Please note if you are not familiar with our store...we are a bricks-and-mortar walk-in store only. We do not ship.
Hope to see you soon.
