There is nothing particularly large about the balalaika - it is a standard contrabass- the band however are brilliant and the bass player is fantastic.They are the exceptional Terem Quartet from St Petersburg and they were truly stunning as always

brilliant playing -love the change to the second hornpipe. I really like Julian Sutton's stuff, I know you have posted one of his - I am currently struggling with "Taking the Tent Down" which I love but finding hard to make the basses work -if you fancied posting your own take on that one ...

I think Bjork should now do a cover of Jackie Oates covering Bjork - seriously I think this a beautifully done i.e. just what you would expect from Jackie Oates.

As a squeezebox player I have to say the accordion was too loud but I guess acoustics in a shed are pretty hard to handle. Lovely fid...

Fully agree, have seen him perform 3 times and met him twice -very gentlemanly and modest- easy to forgot you are in the company of an extraordinary musician.
