Born during the early 90's a boy named Premier came into this world. Premier is CapeVerdian & was born in the heart of Rhode Island within the streets of Providence. This young man didn't grow up with much & it was difficult while living in a single parented home with a younger brother and sister that he had to watch over most of his day while mom worked. He always saw himself as the chosen one while growing up like in the movies. Premier grew up as a good kid and was someone that everybody knew and got along with. As he got older many people had stabbed him in the back, it became natural. "My emotions are now numb & I no longer feel pain unless it's physically."
He claims this is his reason for his "fuck it" kind of attitude. Many of those who were peers of him tended to mistake his kindness for weakness'. This made making true friends become a struggle, he considered most people his associates because he didn't know who he could trust. "I don't hand my trust or respect out like free candy. In order to receive it you have to earn it." However, his neighbors know him as a positive person but can be very negative at times. "No I'm not bipolar; I just have my moments like everyone else does." He is also a very sociable person. Many citizens of the city know of Premier. If he goes somewhere where he isn't known he'll have no problem making new friends.
Rap became a part of his life when he and his friends would write music in the back of the class room during his elementary years of 6th grade. He then took a short break and began again at the age of 14. No one really knew he enjoyed rapping until his high school years, but his classmates and teachers knew he did very well with poetry during middle school. As he got older he decided to take the culture of Hip-Hop a bit more seriously.
"Rap hasn't become my life, I consider it a sport simply because it's one of the many things that I'm good at." A few artists who have influenced him are: Nas, Jay, Ghostface, Mobb Deep, Cassidy, etc.
He claims he doesn't have a favorite quote although one of his favorites lines from the well known rapper Jay z is, "And I swear to God when I leave this earth; it's gonna' be on both feet, Neva knees in the dirt.
