i have started a hydroponic grow system its going great what plants do u think would do best
but i tried all those things except the oil. and i was always removing the leaves. it was bad. but that was last years garden and really i was wondering if it is likely to come back. i was thinking about moving the squash type plants farther away to a sandy patch to avoid the soil from last year. would that be pointless, or a good idea?
tazbrat26, the watermelon had a few problems and didn't make it. I should grow a more compact variety indoors.
stephiemaecrochet, remove dead leaves and watter less frequently. Also mix 1 Tsp baking soda to one quart water. Mix well and lightly spray all the leaves. Spores may be on leaves that look healthy. Make sure you spray the undersides as well. You can use NEEM oil as a spray treatment too.
I was wondering if you have any tips on powdery mildew? Last year here in Vermont my squash and pumpkins were severely effected by this mildew. I'm really worried this will happen again. Also, I'm concerned that the soil will be holding some of the mildew spores. I'm pretty sure i got it from a local nursery that hitched a ride on a pumpkin I bought. Do you have any idea or knowledge about this?
