It has recently been brought to our attention that an individual posing as the Peoples Postcode Lottery is writing to members of the public claiming they are winners of the 2010 World Cup Bid Lottery Award.
The Peoples Postcode Lottery is warning consumers that these letters are scams and should be destroyed immediately. A person cannot win a lottery unless they have entered. To our knowledge the 2010 World Cup Bid Lottery Award does not exist and is not connected in any way to the Peoples Postcode Lottery. Please do not respond to these letters, and please do not provide any personal financial information.
Unfortunately lottery scams have been around for a number of years and the Peoples Postcode Lottery are taking this matter very seriously. We have informed the police and the Office of Fair Trading and we are working together to ensure the issue is resolved quickly
