@dbspaceoditty Not a very good argument for Aikido. Here is a better one, the standup game of MMA is supported by BJJ and wrestling. Try training in MMA then modify your Aikido to work. I also suggest sensitivity and sticky hands training found in wing chun....I've found sucess making my Shotokan...

@syimang I doubt it can be used in the UFC as the rules prohibit small joint manipulation. Surely enough outside of a sporting event where the participants are not wearing gloves and grabbing and shoving is involved, as usually seen in real fights, Aikido might have a chance.

I would agree Torontonians are not necessarily as polite as they would want to think themselves to be. However, depending on which area you are in the level of rudeness does vary. Don't go to the ghetto and expect proper people. From time to time you will come across grown men who act like 6 year...

The thing people are missing is that Aikido is not an art by itself. It is a collection of non-aggressive moves which would have been used along with the sword or ju jitsu techniques. They also don't understand that it is an art that teaches restraining or arresting techniques versus fight ender ...
