Dear BPN,
Thanks for your response. We understand your reluctance to enter the complex population debate. But it is safe to say that unless you address the population issue, in the long run, all of your major planning battles will be lost. We are open for dialoguie when you are ready.
Kind regards,
SPP

I guess she'll have to directly answer to the electorate. If only the growthist print media duopoly would ask her the question - even just once. They seem to have no problem asking her about the broken carbon tax promise... and here I was thinking more people = more carbon emissions...

Good analysis. It's too simplistic to suggest that if you 'develop', fertility goes down. As Bill says "if development is a contraceptive, it has a high failure rate."

We're chasing our tail unless we tackle population. That's why the STABLE POPULATION PARTY OF AUSTRALIA was formed.

LOL. No draconian policies required in Australia. We SUPPORT immigration (balanced with emigration) and free choice on family size - women/couples in Australia have voluntarily chosen for decades to have a stable population (with around 2 children per women). Check out our policies on our website - Google Stable Population Party.
Regardless of where people come from, we consume resources in very similar ways. Culture is not relevant to population sustainablity - only numbers.

Population growth (over 1m people every 3 yrs) is now causing all of Australia’s major problems. A stable population will:
Relieve our overstretched infrastructure
Ease cost of living pressures
Protect food and water security
Encourage training and education of the Australian workforce
Minimise overdevelopment and urban sprawl
Protect the environment
Help lower carbon emissions
73% of Australians want a #StablePopulation. It's time the LibLabGreens listened.

Hear hear. Well done to Kelvin Thomson in identifying population growth is the central issue Australia should be dealing with. We need a stable population as a starting point to start to resolve all of Australia's major problems.

A really nice feel and melody to the song. The passion comes through. We in Australia do generally lack understanding of the population problem across the world, and that's why it's great to see Australians taking action on population and spearheading global efforts to help other countries stabilise their populations. Some countries are voluntarily reducing their populations (e.g. Japan). We can actively help India do the same.

Katter's Australian Party would undo any good work re stopping CSG mining with the CRAZY 60m population target of Katter.
KAP hides it at point 21 on their 'Values and Principles'.
Imagine SEQ (or any part of Qld) with 3 times the population!
How is that going to help preserve water and the land in the regions?
If interested to know tha facts read Overloading Australia.

Good speech by Mr Thomson. GDP is indeed a crude and misleading indicator of human wellbeing. Congratulations!

If The Greens are so concerned about overdevelopment, why don't they tackle population like the STABLE POPULATION PARTY does?
