About Me:
I don't practice polygamy myself but I do believe it should be legalized. Yes, I'm passionate about it becuz it pisses me off how unreasonably intolerant some people can be. I guess it's sorta like heterosexuals who help gays defend gay rights.

Yes, and before it was RACISM and women suppression, and now racial and women equality, what's next? Your logic is FLAWED Pcmiller1000 because SOME times change is good like in the question I just asked you unless you deny that changes for racial and gender equality were good
There is no provable reason as to why polygamy should be banned completely or that the issues in it aren't resolvable just as we would resolve problems in monogamous relationships. So yes, unreasonable and oppressive laws need to be changed.
Please read the context of 1 Corinthians 7. The reason that Paul mentions he wants a person to marry is because of sexual immorality and to avoid that. That's not what I said, that's what PAUL said in 1 Corithians 7:1-2. And don't you find it funny that Jesus did not marry to avoid sexual immorality nor did Paul himself (1 Corinthians 7:8). Or since when is being single a sin? With all this in mind that's why I said Paul was giving a SUGGESTION so it's not something that has to be followed in the first place and it was only ONE suggestion. There are other ways to avoid sexual immorality, polygamy being another way.
Which verse are you referring to? I know 1 Corinthians 7:2 mentions something similar to what you're saying but there Paul is giving a SUGGESTIon of ONE way to avoid sexual immorality. Another way is polygamy or cutting off the body parts that cause you to sin as Jesus mentions in the Gospels. If this was not a suggestion and marrying was a commandment to avoid sexual immorality then Jesus and every other single person would be guilty. Keep in mind, the Apostle Paul was also single according to 1 Corinthians 7:8.
You must also realize the Bible says, "A man clings to his wife" not wives or wife(ves); "From his father and mother" not father and motherS.
Just STOP this fighting! I'm sick of going into my inbox and seeing that you've made, like, SIX responses to one simple comment asking to end this argument.
Your saying they we don't understand scripture... You yourself are very misguided and confused. You really need to search for the reasons why God maybe DOESN'T agree with Polygamy before why is DOES before you become so self-confident.
I've searched for many years, and I've still never found a way that God could accept Polygamy...
Just PLEASE stop arguing with me. I'm sick of this.
