Pole Dancing
About Me:
Thankyou to my subscribers & fellow polers who have encouraged me with their positivity & supportive comments. On my early video's just starting out I didn't engage the comment thing because I noticed even the top polers would sometimes get stupid, jealous, moronic comments from these miserable yahoo's down on themselves.
Everyone come's to the pole with different past experiences & some like ME, with NONE at all! All I brought to the pole was old age ~lol. Secondly, many girls come to the pole with extensive background in professional gymnastics mixed with various forms of dance. As polers we all have our own aspirations for what we want the pole to be & what we want to get out of it. That's the beauty of the art of poling, what inspires one may bore another to tears! I have ZERO interest in spending time breaking myself trying to do the twisted gripola or iron x-ola while many polers are awe-inspired by those & think they will acheive a certain pole status above those who don't do them. At this stage of the game poling for me is about fitness, sexiness, & enjoyment, it is not to be broke back mountain killing myself with this iron-xola stuff!
NOT ALL POLE MOVES ARE FOR EVERYONE. And NOT everyone wants to learn every pole trick out there. Take what you like to do, the moves that inspire you & perform them to the best of your ability & you will create your own style & beauty in your work. Some of the most breathtaking & mesmorizing dances I have seen & been inspired by have only had moderate tricks, but it was dance, the movement & artistry of the music with the dance that inspired me to learn pole, it was not some acrobat doing a cartwheel handspring! The high flying circus performers or the "one big trick reel gymnist polers" are just acrobats.
My goal is & always has been to perform freestyle dances that are fluid, smooth & elegant. IT IS NOT TO BECOME A GYMNIST - ACROBAT ON THE POLE. Whilst, I think many pole moves look beautiful in dances, others not so much.
I am completely self taught. I started poling at 48 & It would be months before I could even do a basic trick much less dance with the pole. This "self-taught" thing worked for me in my situation but taking classes there is just no comparison! I currently am using a 45ML Titanium Gold Xpert by Xpole. I learned everything I know from the following instructional DVD's & would highly recommend all of these to anyone just starting out or at the beginner level as they are all different enough to give you the diversity & range to become your own pole artist! I proudly recommend: **Leigh-Ann Orsi Beg/int/adv Instructional set** Live Once Pole Dance Instructional DVD's (Canada)** Bobbi's Pole Studio (Australia)**
