My subject is war and the pity of war. The poetry is in the pity.
Wilfred Owen

Men who take up arms against one another in public war do not cease on this account to be moral human beings, responsible to one another and to God.
Abraham Lincoln

Wars are poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows.
Martin Luther King, Jr

This is my pen.
There are many like it but this one is mine.
My pen is my best friend.
It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life.
My pen, without me, is useless.
Without my pen, I am useless.
Mario Medina

Welcome . . .
In 2007 I gained a BA (Hons) in Creative Writing from Norwich University College of the Arts in the UK, where I began writing poetry to photographs of the Vietnam War. The first was 'The Wheel Spins Freely' in tribute to Larry Burrows and most of them made up my degree portfolio.
I believe that doves must watch their leaders like hawks; these poems are against war, not the soldier, and they're my tribute to the human face that lies behind conflict and suffering, whether that face be 'friend' or 'foe'.

Leary of Politicians and Promises, most of them Liars & Thieves, to the masses.
Nothing changes but the name of the "Madster " in the here and ... possibly the after.
Thanks for the inspiration, to try my luck @ writing Poetry Against War. Chris S.
Best regards.
