I have been a church organist for 32 years & a pipe organ builder for the same length of time. I run a small firm of church organ builders & we usually have a playable instrument in our workshop. The current restoration project, now finished, is an 1877 all mechanical action (tracker) Conacher organ. I have another YouTube account specifically for that organ under "ConacherG0OJF". I am absolutely passionate about hymns played on the organ, and this YouTube channel is to reflect my interest. I play at 6 churches, so get some variety of instrument, though most organs are quite small in this area, and all were built pre-1900. Organ consoles were more standardised after 1914, so earlier instruments are always interesting to play. Many have ratchet swell pedals rather than the more usual & modern 'balanced' type. I have a strict rule for organs in the workshop, that wherever possible if a ratchet swell pedal is fitted on an organ, then we retain it.

The current project is a 4+4 tracker Jackson of Lincoln organ, which will start to become playable in the workshop shortly. As soon as we have one stop installed, I'll do a recording. It's a bit newer than the Conacher as it was built around 1890.

Some of the earliest recordings on the Conacher will slowly be replaced now that organ is finished.

It has become clear to me that this YouTube channel is being used as a resourse by churches who don't have an organ & this is fine. To help those users, future & replacement recordings will have more verses & the hymn book I am playing from will be stated.
