The Colts got the ball with 5:30 to go, down 7 in Superbowl 44. Manning had a choice and he chose to be selfish. The running game had been working all day. Joseph Addai was having a great day. Peyton could've utilized the run game more during the fateful drive, score, kill the clock and takes his chaces on the coin toss. Although the coin toss is only a 50/50 chance, the Colts had a much better chance of winning the toss than of their Defense stopping Brees from reaching FG range and the Saints kicker had been "lights out." Instead he chose to air it out. At the pace Peyton was moving the ball, the Colts would've scored with about 2 mins. left. Even if they had scored, the best he could get was a tie or 1 pt lead with a 2pt conversion. However, by passing all the way, the time left on the clock would've been enough for Brees to drive for a FG (like he did before halftime) and win it. The Colts' Defense had not been able to stop Brees in the 2nd half. Plus they would've come back on the field on short rest. The decision was a no-brainer for Peyton. Because if he had used the running game wisely, he could have gotten the TD for a the tie and gone to overtime. An overtime win is not guaranteed, but you have to give yourselves a chance. And by throwing for a quick score, Peyton heavily tilted the odds against his own team. But why would he do that? As it turns out, the decision was indeed a no-brainer for Manning, but for the following reason. He knew that if they had eventually won, Addai would've likely earned MVP honors, and this, was simply not an option for Peyton. So he arrogantly padded his own stats in trying to be the ONLY hero, he bit off more than he could chew, and subsequently Choked the Suprebowl away with a Pick-6. Hence my nickname for him, "Pick6Peyton."

You make it seem like Peyton Manning threw a shit pass. Manning is better in every aspect of the game. Being great and having rings doesn't make you a better QB. Don't forget that Brady threw an interception to Marlin Jackson in the AFC Championship in the same fashion as Manning did in the super bowl
