First I want to say I DO NOT HATE ASIANS. I think they are the most intellectually-driven people on the planet and I commend them for that. Plus, look at my bg the japanese anime - i love it. HOWEVER....
This is how i feel about all the asian babies playing piano on youtube:
If every asian kid can play piano then there are no prodigies. it becomes the norm.
yawn...just another kid playing piano. so...what else is new? z z z you guys are hogging up all the youtube space showing off your overly-dressed kids. it's only a kiddy recital, not some prestigious hall or something. so what's with the gowns? you think you'll get rich off your little brats? stop showing them off because again, all kids are playing piano so yours are no better than the next.
I don't blame the piano-babies, but parents. having a 4 year old play big pieces can cause carpel tunnel syndrome and they can get irreversible nerve damage from stretching their hands to extreme ranges. their hand structure is not neurologically developed yet for these BIG pieces. i read about this happening to children whose dumb parents FORCE them (mostly against their will) to play too young. they should be at least SEVEN when their fingers are big enough to play. and they shouldn't start with OCTAVES.
And i bet these children don't even get any fresh air outdoors, exercise by running around and PLAYING like children should be, and i bet they have no social life being with other children which is healthy and fun. children also need fun in their lives. especially if they are chinese since you can only have one child in china. chinese children need to be in school with other kids, but i bet the ones on youtube are home schooled. that means they are around adults 24/7 and won't know how to interact with their peers.
so if your little one doesn't want to practice today, but wants to go out to play with other children, what do you do? BEAT them?
This is such unhealthy behavior for a child and they could end up like mj who thought he was a child at 50! may he rip.
It's like competition out there: who's kid can outplay the next one. i read someone's comment that said, soon there will be sperm playing piano on youtube. lolzzz how true!
