I am a musician who does not believe in genres (except to facilitate musical discussion), only a continuous span of traditions and ideas that meld together through different people at different times and places. We are all very fortunate to live in a time when mostly all of it is available to us at a click of the mouse. The best musicians in the new age of music will be those that open their minds and expose themselves to as much music as they can, in the end creating something with so many influences that any single one is nigh traceable, hence originality.
