About The Classics
Interested in classic western philosophy and classical/romantic era music. My favorite composer of all time is Ludwig van Beethoven. I've read several books on him; he had such a fascinating and tragic life. Many of Beethoven's works stand out in my head, including pieces written for piano, violin, cello, symphonies, and even choral songs, however; only a couple pieces really have/had a profound effect on my life. They are both pieces written for piano, piano sonatas. One piece is well known among the entire world, both musicians and non-musicians, and classical music lovers and non-classical music lovers alike. That is, of course, the Moonlight sonata (sonata no. 14). It is so well known for a very good reason. That piece changed my life over 15 years ago now, and it still moves me to this day. You will probably see many performances by many different pianists among my favorites list. Message or comment me if you know any great not so well known performances.
