R.I.P Ronnie James Dio, a true great of metal!!

I'm Phil, 23 from a small town called Mansfield in the middle of England.

I've been drumming, on and off, for about 10 years, although most of that time I've had to go without a kit. I'm completely self taught, never had a lesson, but had watched literally hundreds of hours of drum videos from drummers all round the world.

My drumming style is heavily influenced by Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden, although I've learnt tricks and tips from countless other great drummers, including:

Dave Weckl
Mike Portnoy
Thomas Lang
Jorg Michael
Jeff SInger
Larry Paterson
Eric Carr

I try to be very fluid when it comes to drums and dont always pre-plan what fills im going to use. This means I often make mistakes during recordings, but that's all part of the game, and I'm not overly fussed about videos on YouTube showing me fucking up the odd time. Live gigs is where it really counts.

If anybody sees something they like and wants it broken down I'm more than happy to do that. Similarly if you see a track you like and want to see recorded give me a shout and I'll see what I do. I'm more of a classic rock/classic metal drummer, but give me a shout and you never know what'll happen.

I also only use single bass, always have done. As I said I'm heavily influenced by Nicko McBrain and he's only ever used double bass for one song, and that's good enough for me.
