@PRChristopher93 You misunderstand me. I'm saying the first episode of Samurai was based on the third episode of Shinkenger. That's why it focused so heavily on Mike, rather than the team as a whole, and why they already have their powers.

Also remember that it was the kid's immediate reaction to the "revelation". After about a minute, they probably would have gone "wait a minute, our mother isn't named Tracy". Shock and surprise do tend to cloud your thinking afterall.
