Peyk, the group that has breathed a breath of fresh air into the alternative music scene, have finished cutting their first album.We say 'at last' because in fact, Peyk have been playing together for along time - since 1991, to be precise. The nucleus of the group was formed when İrfan Alış (vocals) and Serdar Ersoy (guitar) met on campus of İstanbul University. The duo soon began to build up a repertoire of words and music, but it was only when they were joined in 1995 by Ertan Çalışkan (drums) and Özgür Ulusoy (violin and keyboards) that their songs began to see the light of day. The line-up was completed when the fifth member, Barış Tokgöz (bass), joined the group in 2006.
